Like a bullet approaches its unwitting prey,
Andromeda is moving towards the Milky Way.
When I first heard this tidbit of information,
I froze up in trepidation
Are we going to die?
Will we no longer be able to see the night sky?
My teacher said, fear not, for the distance between stars are so large,
that Andromeda would just merge into the spaces between our galaxy's milky arms.
I wonder, how would the night sky look in the newly born Milkomeda galaxy?
My teacher replied, as the galaxies approach each other,
stars, gas and dust will be added to our vast cosmic sea.
How beautiful would that be?
Very.
A small poem that I wrote when I was feeling particularly contemplative. We are within the Universe, and the Universe is also within us.
